@drpigeon: I installed the mod loner of your´s and when I open it it askes me what version I want to mod and it says in brackets offline. Can you tell me what I can do to sort this as I cant mod without it and don´t want to use a different installer?

Are any other mods listed in the left mod list? If not Modinstaller has no internet access:
Java is not able to connect to the Internet in order to download the mod list. Deactivate all of your firewalls or (better) alow the Java the access to the Internet. More information you can find in our FAQ (see top). And install for example Minecraft 1.7.10 or 1.8, first!

Dylan: why does Modinstaller need to RE-download all the mods every time i want to add/remove other mods? With large mods like galactacraft and Flans mod, it takes long to download unecesarry things and uses a lot of data, could you fix this please ( It re-downloads all other mods, when i want to add a single, small mod) .

Also , if you could indicate the size of the mod bieng downloaded (at the progress bar) it would be very helpfull.

Thanks for your feedback. We plan to implement your suggestions in our next Modinstaller versions. We will indicate the file size above the mod description. Maybe we will add a button in order to select whether you would like to reinstall the mod you have already installed.

Your Name: how do you install 1.8 mods?

In order to switch to another Minecraft version, you have to install the Minecraft version with the Minecraft Launcher first.

Exit the Modinstaller and Minecraft
Start the Minecraft Launcher
Click at lower left on "Edit Profile"
Please choose "Use version" "release 1.8" in the Profile Editor ("Version Selection")
Save your change by clicking on "Save Profile" (at lower right)
Click on "Play" and WAIT until Minecraft has downloaded all required files and has started completely
Close Minecraft again

When Minecraft has installed the new version, just start the Modinstaller. Than you will be asked, which Minecraft version you would like to modify. Choose the Minecraft version you have installed recently. The Modinstaller recommends some mods that are compatible with the new version. Often you will find more mods in the Forge mode.
In addition you will be able to switch to other Minecraft versions (on condition you have installed them already), if you click top right on the dropdown list on the Installers´ main menu. The Installer only offers Mods for Minecraft versions that are available on your pc and our servers.

Your Name: how do i get hide the message that pops up when i open minecraft.

Normally there are no pop ups when you open Minecraft. These pop pups may be shown if the mod devoloper indendes these. What exactly is shown on this message?

Sorry, it is not possible to install Forge and Modloader mods such as OptiFine together because most of them are not compatible to each other.

I dont really know how this works. how do i simply install the mod installer? What is it exactly? is the step by step instruction on what exactly i need to do to install and use this?

When I try to open my world it says shutting down internal server then goes back to the launcher and says something about crash report please help me Mod People of this mod website.

why is the installer in offline mode? How can I make it online again?

Hey there, I´m not so great at installing mods so I wanted a good automod installer. I was amazed at your installer, It´s phoenomenal and I´m very impressed. I downloaded 25 mods straight away to my 1.7.10 version of minecraft but I was a little sad to find out that your 1.6.4 version of Minecraft had very few mods.

1.6.4 is the easiest to mod version of minecraft since 1.2.x so most mod authors stopped developing after 1.6.4 because it got quite difficult from there. 1.6.4 has the most mods so I really hope you can introduce more mods to 1.6.4 because I love your mod installer!
